Marin Management names new president

Sausalito, Calif.-based hotel management company Marin Management has appointed Pat Mitchell as its president, following the retirement of founder John Manderfeld on Aug. 31.

Manderfeld revealed plans to retire earlier this year after spending more than 50 years in the hospitality industry. He will continue in an advisory role after his official retirement and will work closely with Hogan Hospitality Group—which bought Marin Management in September 2018—during the transition. Earlier this year, he received the California Lodging Investment Conference’s first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Helping hotel owners realize the potential of their investments and provide better experiences for their guests is the reason I founded Marin Management, and has driven my passion for hospitality throughout my career,” Manderfeld said when announcing his retirement. “It has been my great pleasure to work with some of the most talented and dedicated professionals in the hospitality industry, and I’m especially grateful to my team for their support all of these years.”
