Aimbridge Hospitality has completed its merger with Interstate Hotels & Resorts. The newly combined company operates under the Aimbridge Hospitality name in the Americas while using the Interstate brand for international markets. Terms of the transaction, first announced in August, were not disclosed.
Aimbridge Hospitality now operates more than 1,400 properties in 49 states and 20 countries. Both Dave Johnson, former co-founder/CEO of Aimbridge, and Michael Deitemeyer, former president/CEO of Interstate, are staying on as leaders within the combined company, Johnson as CEO and Deitemeyer as global president.
“Aimbridge is excited to have finalized this transformative merger,” Johnson said in a statement. “Mike and I are confident that the combination of our two robust companies will allow us to leverage our expanded scale to bring unparalleled opportunities to our team members and even greater value to our owners.”
“This merger will help us fulfill our common vision to be the best-in-class operators with the top talent, systems, technology and service capabilities to deliver results across all hospitality product categories,” Deitemeyer said in a statement.
The combined company, headquartered in Plano, Texas, has offices in Atlanta; Calgary, Alberta; Chicago; Fargo, N.D.; Arlington, Va.; Rio Grande, Puerto Rico; San Clemente, Calif.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Toronto; Amsterdam, Birmingham, England; Glasgow, Scotland; and Moscow. It employs more than 60,000 people.
