SERDANG, Nov 24 — Upin & Ipin Carnival will be listed in Malaysia’s tourism calendar to attract fans around the world next year, said Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.
He said the carnival was potential to be a platform to promote the country’s tourism sector based on the popularity of twin animated characters.
“Upin & Ipin can create an animation series on the awareness and importance of cleanliness and at the same time help to promote tourist destinations in Malaysia,” he said when officiating the 2017 Upin & Ipin Carnival at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang, here today.
Mohamed Nazri hoped the ‘Upin & Ipin’ animation characters would help to promote the cultural diversity and uniqueness of country’s tourist destinations as Malaysia’s Tourism Ambassadors .
He also hoped there would be more cooperation between ‘Upin & Ipin’ and the ministry in future. — Bernama
